Wendy’ the ambulance

‘Wendy’ is a 1939 Morris Commercial. She started life as a ’Heavy Pump’ fire appliance commissioned for use in the Blitz in London during early WW2. She was put into storage in 1941 and then converted into an ambulance in 1948, being used until 1956 and then stored until 1964.

She was then used by Unilever from 1964 - 70 and was then purchased and restored by her long term owner Mark Bailey to her 1955 condition. Mark very generously presented Wendy to Whitewebbs Museum in July 2024. She is maintained in-house and used regularly to promote the Museum at shows and charity events.
